Alberto Tessarolo received his Laurea Degree and Ph.D. Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Trieste, Italy, in 2000 and from the University of Padova, Italy, in 2011, respectively. Until 2006, he served as a Design Engineer in the Electrical Engineering and Product Development Department of Ansaldo Sistemi Industriali - Motors and Generators Business Unit, where he was involved in the design and development of large electric machines for high power applications. Presently, he is with the Industrial Engineering and Information Technology Department of the University of Trieste, Italy, where he teaches the course of Electric Machine Design. As a part of his academic activity, he is involved in several research projects in cooperation with leading industrial electric machine producers and final users. His main interests are in the area of electric machine modeling, analysis and design optimization with genetic algorithms. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in Italy.
