Edmundo Queiroz de Andrade


Graduated in civil engineering in 1990 with emphasis on structures and geotechnica in Rio de Janeiro Catholic University (PUC). In 1993 obtained the Master degree in civil engineering, in the area of structures at the same university. Thesis specification was “Instability and Vibrations of Slender Columns on Elastic Foundations”.
From 1994 to 1996 worked as a structural civil engineer dealing with design of offshore platforms. From 1996 to 1998 worked as a researcher at Rio de Janeiro Catholic University (PUC/RJ).
From 1998 started to work as a contractor at PETROBRAS Research Center (CENPES) using finite elements models in the project related to corroded pipes. In 2003 was admitted as Petrobras employee at CENPES and since then has worked with finite element methods applied to corroded pipes and risers support system for offshore platforms.
