Dr. Amos H.C. Ng is an Associate Professor at the University of Skövde in Sweden. He is the research leader of the Advanced Production and Systems Optimization group at the university. He holds a BEng and MPhil degree, both in Manufacturing Engineering from the City University of Hong Kong, and a PhD degree in Computing Science and Engineering from De Montfort University, the United Kingdom. He is a Chartered Engineer and a member of IET in the UK.
Amos has extensive research experience from leading industrial-based research projects related to virtual engineering, manufacturing systems simulation, analysis and optimization. Currently, he is the project leader of a national research project (FFI-HSO) with partners from major Swedish automotive manufacturers. The aim of the project is in applying simulation-based multi-objective optimization to support high-quality decision making in production system design problems that need to consider conflicting objectives like productivity, various cost factors and energy consumptions. In this presentation he will focus on his current research on applying multi-objective optimization to manufacturing supply chain analysis, using an integration of System Dynamics simulation and modeFRONTIER.
