Ryan Adams teaches a range of courses at RMIT University, in particular on the topic of Finite Elements, and also supervises undergraduate final year projects and post-graduate by research topics. Ryan is passionate about the benefits of optimisation with a focus on applying the methods to Finite Element Analysis. Ryan has a strong background in shape change of linear static FE models for design improvement using semi-analytic methods (adjoint variable method) as well as a broad understanding of general optimisation and its application to the explicit FE method for structural design including using composite materials.
