Bernd Sum is research associate at the Faculty of Architecture at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) since 2009. In addition to teaching in the Department of Building Structures, he deals with simulations of structural behavior and design of existing structures, especially with reinforced concrete structures. Mr. Sum studied civil engineering in Karlsruhe and Kaiserslautern .
